Our Techniques

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting  approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience.

Beginning in OCTOBER of 2010, Dr. Merkel will be attending seminars on Applied Kinesiology. Applied Kinesiology is a system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing to provide feedback on the functional status of the body.  Dr. Merkel is extremely excited to be taking this course.  In the summer of 1993 while Dr. Merkel was attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, he went abroad to Ireland to research Chiropractic in that country.  It was there that he first experienced Applied Kinesiology.  He was able to observe an office near Dublin where the Chiropractor was effectively treating patients via this technique.  Dr. Merkel hopes to be able to incorporate this technique into his office to enhance his skills as a Chiropractor as well as provide all of our patients an added benefit to their health care needs in the very near future.
